Your success in business is based on how effectively you communicate. Whether it is your boss, peers, or subordinates, you need to vocalize your ideas smoothly and without annoying speech mistakes that disrupt the listeners ability to focus on what you are saying.

Through participation in the Toastmasters Communication and Leadership program, people from all backgrounds learn to effectively speak, conduct a meeting, manage a department or business, lead, delegate, and motivate.

Every Tuesday from 6:00-7:00 pm

At the TIC Talkers Club you will:

• be challenged by practicing "thinking on your feet" every week with a speaking exercise called Table Topics, a two-minute response to a random question on our theme of the week.

• discover how often you really use your speech inhibitors. Are they ums, or uhs, or ahs, or sortas? Are you a filler word abuser? Do the so that's and kinda like's muddy your point, clarity, and fluidness of your responses.

• learn how to briefly give an opinion or fact about a subject. A skill you can use in the hallway, elevator, or a meeting when queried by a superior or peer.

• practice and learn how to give a five to ten minute speech in an organized manner, using body language, vocal variety, and other speaking tools for a more effective message.

• practice and learn how to work with external information for your speech such as using an overhead or handouts.

• practice and learn how to schedule and run a meeting with several participants, perform introductions for those participants, and meeting turnover.
